Professional Background

How do you like my desk attire? LOL

Nearly 40 years ago it was strongly suggested by my parents that I get into the automobile business, based on the fact that I really had no other prospects. My father, at the time, owned a small single point Plymouth Dealership in Canton Ohio. After attending 1 year at Northwood I started in the detail shop and have had the opportunity to do pretty much every job in a dealership. I Sold cars pretty successfully in the mid 70’s and managed dealerships until the late 80’s when I became a “Turn Around Specialist” traveling the country helping under performing stores reach their maximum potential.

In 1998, due to a very obvious need for “Committed Well Trained Salespeople, With No Bad Habits” AutoMax Recruiting and Training was formed. Fourteen years later, over 11,000 recruiting /training campaigns conducted and over 100,000 people placed into the automotive industry and more to come as AutoMax now staffs dealerships from “Porters to Presidents” – all positions in your dealership.

Hobbies

Not bad for 60..ish! P90X rocks!

I’m very involved in my Church as a volunteer. I have 4 grown children, 2 girls and 2 boys, Jessica, Erica, Joe and Kyle, 2 grandsons, Owen and Elijah, all of whom I adore. I was raised on a farm in Novelty Ohio, I still have a love of farming and horses. In my spare time I enjoy “playing” golf, working out and have been blessed to be able to travel worldwide. I collect baseball cards and have over 200,000 in my collection, no you can’t play with them, you’d probably bend the corners.

Goals

One day, just not ready to retire yet!

Some of my goals or outcomes in my life going forward would be to see my family grow, be successful and happy… more Grandkids. Help lead AutoMax Recruiting and Training to become the first and only go to resource for dealers to obtain top talent. I sure would like to end up in the Carolina’s somewhere, big yellow farmhouse with white trim, big porch, huge red barn, horses, lake, a beat up old jeep and a big ugly old dog.
